Dancing on the Veranda
In search of a place to do my dance practice during lockdown from March, the veranda of The Drill building in Rushcutters Bay Park has been a welcoming home. I love dancing outdoors with the wind, sun and rain, enjoying new company, a generous local community that loves the arts. Who could be happier!?
This escapade has mushroomed and become a new project!
Wendy Bookatz, visual artist, has been inspired to take some photos and videos of me in practice and chatting with the community. You can read more Dancer on the Veranda.
Woollahra Council has approved a small grant for a free performance and workshop in October and November and this was kindly auspiced by the National Council of Jewish Women.
The performance will be in Sir David Martin Reserve between The Drill and RANSA sailing club. The little wharf is a perfect stage with our iconic Sydney Harbour as a backdrop.
If you're walking by, stop for a chat, learn about Flamenco, have a dance, sing a song.
