'FORGE' contemporary flamenco duet in 'Dance Bites' 5-7 May

I am creating an exciting new contemporary flamenco dance work called FORGE with composer-pianist, Amanda Handel. FORGE will premiere as part of a double bill with Compania Pepa Molina and her new work Bush Bailando at Riverside Theatres, Parramatta from 5-7 May 2016. This is the first time that TWO locally produced flamenco shows have been featured as part of a contemporary dance program in Australia, so it is an exciting opportunity for us to showcase our work in an umbrella season and shift perceptions of flamenco as a folkloric form to one of modern relevance and its impact in the 21st century.

Our campaign launch The project is currently unfunded so we are running a Pozible campaign, Flamenco NOW  to raise funds to pay the artist fees for the week of performances and we are seeking your support. There are some great rewards including tickets to see the show, beautiful flamenco dresses and accessories, Amanda’s CDs, workshops with Pepa or myself and the chance to see Diego El Cigala live in Sydney in March and ‘Burn The Floor’ if you donate in the first week of the campaign.  Read more about our story and the rewards here.
